Cookie Policy for Speed Delete

This Cookie Policy explains how Speed Delete (spdelete.com) uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you visit our website. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. Local storage is a browser feature that allows websites to store data locally on your device.

Speed Delete uses both cookies and local storage to provide essential functionality, particularly for our chatbot feature, and to improve your experience on our website.

2. Types of Cookies and Storage We Use

Essential Cookies and Local Storage

These are necessary for the website to function properly and cannot be disabled. They include:

Chatbot Functionality (Local Storage)

Our chatbot uses browser local storage to:

  • speeddelete_chat_history - Stores your conversation history so you can continue chatting when you return
  • speeddelete_chat_session - Tracks whether you have an active chat session
  • speeddelete_user_info - Stores your email and username (if provided) to personalize your experience

Purpose: These are essential for the chatbot to remember your conversations and provide a seamless experience. Without these, you would need to re-enter your information and lose your chat history every time you visit.

Duration: Stored locally on your device until you clear your browser data or manually delete them.

Analytics Cookies

We use analytics services to understand how visitors use our website:

Vercel Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics, including:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Time spent on pages
  • Geographic location (country-level only)
  • Device and browser information

Purpose: To improve our website performance and user experience.

Data: All data is anonymized and aggregated. No personally identifiable information is collected.

3. Third-Party Cookies

We use the following third-party services that may set cookies:

Vercel Analytics

Vercel Analytics may use cookies to track website usage. This service is provided by Vercel Inc. For more information, see Vercel's Privacy Policy.

4. How to Manage Cookies and Local Storage

Browser Settings

You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings. However, disabling essential cookies or local storage may affect website functionality, particularly the chatbot feature.

How to Clear Local Storage (Chatbot Data)

To clear chatbot data stored in your browser:

  1. Chrome/Edge: Press F12 → Application tab → Local Storage → spdelete.com → Right-click → Clear
  2. Firefox: Press F12 → Storage tab → Local Storage → spdelete.com → Right-click → Delete All
  3. Safari: Develop menu → Show Web Inspector → Storage tab → Local Storage → Clear
  4. All Browsers: Clear all browsing data (Ctrl+Shift+Delete) and select "Cookies and other site data"

Impact of Disabling

If you disable cookies or local storage:

  • The chatbot will not remember your conversation history
  • You will need to re-enter your email and username each time you use the chatbot
  • Some website features may not work as expected
  • Analytics data collection will be disabled

5. Data Stored by Chatbot

The chatbot stores the following data locally on your device:

Storage KeyData StoredPurpose
speeddelete_chat_historyYour conversation messages (questions and answers)To maintain conversation context when you return
speeddelete_user_infoEmail address and username (if provided)To personalize your chatbot experience
speeddelete_chat_sessionActive session statusTo track whether you have an active chat session

Important: All chatbot data is stored locally on your device only. We do not access this data unless you explicitly interact with the chatbot, and even then, only your questions and our answers are sent to our servers for logging and improvement purposes (as described in our Privacy Policy).

6. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. Currently, there is no standard for how DNT signals should be interpreted. Speed Delete does not currently respond to DNT browser signals or mechanisms.

7. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The most current version will always be available on this page with an updated "Effective Date" at the top.
